This is an English summary. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is the legally binding one under German law.
The controller responsible for data processing under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Marc Koschel
Erich-Kästner-Ring 28-1
68799 Reilingen, Germany
Email:
I only process personal data to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and my content. Personal data is only processed with consent or when another legal basis permits it.
This website is run privately and without commercial intent. It is built as a static site, without a database and without a content management system.
This website is hosted by:
STRATO AG
Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7
10249 Berlin, Germany
https://www.strato.de
A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Strato. Strato's servers are located in Germany.
The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These are:
This data is not merged with other data sources. Collection is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of the website. Log files are automatically deleted after 7 days at the latest.
This website is static and does not set any cookies itself. Should this change due to future technical modifications (e.g. a contact form with its own session handling), this policy will be updated accordingly.
When you fill out and submit the contact form, the data you enter (name, email address, message) is sent to me as an email via a PHP script on the web server (recipient address info@marc-koschel.de). No data is stored in a database on the website — the message simply arrives in my email inbox, like a regular email.
The form also contains a field that is invisible to humans (honeypot), used solely for spam prevention: if it is filled in, the message is recognized as a bot submission and is not delivered.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in processing user inquiries and preventing spam). The data is deleted once your request has been fully processed and no statutory retention obligation applies.
The "Latest" section shows the most recent posts from my other sites (mk-13.de, mko.photo). This content is embedded server-side when the page is built (via a script that fetches the RSS feed from mk-13.de and links a fixed selection of mko.photo galleries). No direct data transfer from your browser to mk-13.de or mko.photo takes place when you visit this website — only when you click one of the links does your browser connect to the respective target site.
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights against me as the controller:
Access (Art. 15 GDPR): You can request information about whether and which personal data I process about you.
Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can request the correction of inaccurate data.
Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can request the deletion of your data, provided no statutory retention obligations apply.
Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): You can request the restriction of the processing of your data.
Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): You can request that data you have provided to me be handed over in a structured, common, and machine-readable format.
Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): You can object to the processing of your data, insofar as processing is based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
To exercise your rights, contact me by email:
Under Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data. The competent authority for Baden-Württemberg is:
Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (LfDI)
Lautenschlagerstraße 20
70173 Stuttgart, Germany

I reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy to keep it aligned with current legal requirements, or to reflect changes to my services. The version in place at the time of your next visit applies.
